Joe Finocchiaro Design specializes in corporate identity:
symbols, logotypes, typography and customized alphabets.
The quality of Joe’s work has made him a consultant to some of New York’s
top corporate identity firms: Alexander Design, Enterprise IG,
Infinia, Landor, Lippincott, Pentagram and SiegelGale. Many Fortune 500
symbols and their corporate fonts have passed under Joe’s eyes and
hands in their creation.
Joe began his design career in Milano, Italy in the studio of AG Fronzoni
before moving back to the U.S. in the early eighties. He has held
design positions at Anspach Grossman Portugal and the Museum of Modern
Art where he was responsible for signing and exhibit communications.
He has taught graphic design courses at the Istituto superiore d'industria
artistica in Urbino, Istituto di communizione visiva in Milano,
Philadelphia College of Art, State University of New York at Purchase,
Cooper Union, Fashion Institute of Technology and the School of Visual Arts.
Joe earned a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the Philadelphia College of Art
in 1969 and completed four years of postgraduate research at the
Kunstgewerbeschule, Basel, Switzerland in 1977.
His portfolio contains samples of collaborative work with corporations,
design firms and non-profit institutions. These projects were made possible
with their generous help and support.
